Kim Gardner was an accomplished musician and artist. He was part of the British Rock invasion of the '60's and '70's, recorded over 30 albums and played with the Creation, Birds (with Ronnie Wood), Ashton, Gardner & Dyke and Quiet Melon (with Rod Stewart), to name a few. Kim was collaborating with Don Adey and Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix Experience) on a new CD which will be released in the near future. There will be several guests also on these recordings including Carmine Appice, Jackie Lomax, Brian Auger, Ivan Neville and the Gardner girls -- Eva on bass, and Ashlee & Camille on vocals. During the time Kim was involved with the Cat & Fiddle, his art was an integral part of his repertoire. He began drawing as a teenager in West Drayton, England, with his neighbor Ronnnie Wood. From his late teens and onward, he focused primarily on music. But his passion for art was revived in the late 80's after opening the Cat and Fiddle in 1982. Kim even wrote a song with the same title as the picture named "Two in the Front and One in the Back" (see painting below). |
